Free-Edyno EMC Test System

Free Edyno is an EMC test load system for motor and controller. It adopts an electric dynamometer controlled by four quadrant frequency converter to simulate any load mode of electric drive system, such as acceleration, deceleration, constant speed, constant torque and so on.
The electric dynamometer and frequency converter are integrated into the mobile platform which on the heavy duty industrial universal wheel.
Free edyno control system can control the dynamometer through optical fiber and remote data transmission. Users only need to connect the power supply and cooling water pipe to remotely control the system.

1.Free-Edyno introduction

Free Edyno is an EMC test load system for motor and controller. It adopts an electric dynamometer controlled by four quadrant frequency converter to simulate any load mode of electric drive system, such as acceleration, deceleration, constant speed, constant torque and so on.

The electric dynamometer and frequency converter are integrated into the mobile platform which on the heavy duty industrial universal wheel.

Free edyno control system can control the dynamometer through optical fiber and remote data transmission. Users only need to connect the power supply and cooling water pipe to remotely control the system.

4.Technical description

Free-Edyno adopts insulated industrial universal wheel, which can simulate the floating state of vehicle tires. The shaft of the tested motor and the output shaft of the dynamometer can be connected by insulating coupling or metal coupling, which can simulate various connection states of the tested motor.

Free-Edyno system adopts unique shielding treatment technology, integrates electric dynamometer, frequency converter, etc. into a closed metal cover, and adopts special electrostatic guiding mechanism to ensure that the system can meet the requirements of EMC test. EMC performance fully meets standard requirements of ISO 11452-2, and CISPR25.

The installation platform of the tested motor can also be designed as a fixed platform with T-slot. We can provide sliding L-shaped support to install the tested motor. The surface of the installation platform is designed with a copper plate mounting surface, which can make very good electrical contact with the copper plate on the test table.

We can move the L-shaped support by rotate the hand wheel on the reducer of mobile mechanism.

The precision L-shaped support is designed on the installation platform, which ensures the accurate coaxiality of the tested motor with the dynamometer output power shaft. Just ensure the tested motor is coaxial with the mounting flange.

4. Control System

The measurement and control system is composed of upper computer monitoring system, data acquisition system, sensor measurement system, frequency converter control system, test-bed auxiliary equipment control system, safety monitoring system, fault early warning system, etc. The measurement and control system adopts real-time Ethernet EtherCAT as the main communication network.

The sensors in the anechoic chamber are treated with low noise, which does not affect the EMC performance index of the anechoic chamber. Emergency stop button is designed on the console in the control room and dynamometer, if any emergency stop button is pressed, the system can be stopped immediately, including dynamometer, frequency converter, battery simulator, etc.

5. Control Software

The dynamometer control software system integrates dynamometer control, battery simulator control, cooling system control and safety monitoring. Each subsystem can be remotely monitored.

The control interface of the test-bed is mainly used to control the dynamometer, battery simulator, cooling system, etc. The dynamometer can adopt torque and speed control modes. The control software interface displays the torque, speed temperature, current and voltage of the DC bidirectional power and so on. You can control the dynometer, the DC bidirectional power, cooling system by the control software system. The control system software needs to include the following functions:

1) Constant speed control of dynamometer

2) Constant torque control of dynamometer

3) Custom operating table

4) Measurement data display and storage

5) Limit monitoring

6) Graphical display of measurement results
